The buyer dashboard
For the person a publisher invites to take its calls: accepting the invitation, the six pages, taking calls on your mobile or in your browser, and what the dashboard shows you — and what it never does.
After this page you can accept your invitation, choose where your calls ring, take a call in your browser, find any call your publisher put through to you, and know exactly what you can see about the people who call.
Accepting your invitation
- 1
Open the link in the email
It opens a page that says who invited you, for which buyer, and until when. The link works for seven days; after that, ask your publisher to send it again — it comes back with a fresh week.
- 2
Sign in, or choose a password
Already have a login with this address? Sign in, and the page brings you straight back to accept. New here? Type your name and choose a password on the same page — the invitation proves your address, so there is no confirmation email to wait for.
- 3
You land on your dashboard
Its menu carries your publisher's name at the top. The invitation works only for the address it was sent to: signed in as someone else, the page says so and offers to sign you out.
Not for you? Press No thanks on the same page. Your publisher is told, nothing is set up, and your calls keep ringing wherever they rang before.
The six pages
| Page | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Today at a glance: calls, answered, qualified and missed — counted on your own time zone — your six latest calls, and a line or two when something needs you (your calls are paused, your browser is not taking calls, your mobile is not verified). |
| Take calls | Switch calls on in this browser, pause them, or see that they ring your mobile. The call on the line right now, as it rings. |
| Call logs | Every call your publisher put through to you, by day and by outcome, with a note of your own on each one. Export what you see as CSV. |
| My destination | Where your calls ring, and — if your publisher lets you — changing it to your mobile or this browser. |
| SMS alerts | The texts you are sent when one of your calls qualifies. Shown only when your publisher has switched them on for you. |
| Settings | Your name, your time zone, your password and sign-ins, and which emails you receive. It also shows the two things your publisher decides about your seat. |
Where your calls ring
You have one destination, and your publisher sets it first. If they let you change it (Can change their own destination — Settings shows it), My destination offers two choices:
| Destination | How it works |
|---|---|
| Your mobile | A US mobile number, proved by a six-digit code we text to it. The code lasts 10 minutes and allows five tries; you can ask for one code a minute and five an hour. Nothing changes until the code comes back. Your mobile is one number across every dashboard you use: proving a new one moves every destination that rang the old one with it. |
| This browser | Calls ring the dashboard in your browser — but only while Take calls is open with In this browser switched on. Close the tab, or let it sleep for 90 seconds, and calls skip you until you are back. |
| Their phone | A number your publisher typed in. You cannot choose it, but you can see it — masked — on My destination. |
Taking a call in your browser
- Open Take calls and switch on In this browser (keep this page open). The first time, the page checks your microphone and speaker — allow it, or the browser cannot ring.
- Keep the tab open. A call rings in the browser and connects on its own; the call screen shows the campaign, the caller (masked, below) and a timer.
- Hang up ends it. If you hang up while a call is still ringing through to you, only your line drops: the caller goes on to the next buyer rather than being cut off.
- Stepping away? Pause calls holds them without closing anything, and Resume calls brings them back. Switching In this browser off stops them altogether.
- Paused, or live on one of your other dashboards? Calls for this buyer skip you and go to the next buyer your publisher has — nothing is left ringing.
Your mobile or a phone number works differently: it rings whenever a call is sent to you, and there is nothing to switch on. Some publishers ask you to press 1 when you answer, after a short message naming the campaign — that is how they know a person took the call, not a voicemail box. Press any other key, or nothing, and the call goes to the next buyer.
Who is calling
Until a call qualifies — reaches the talk time your publisher agreed with you — the caller shows as ***-***-1234: the last four digits and nothing more, not even the area code. Once it qualifies, you see the whole number only if your publisher has turned that on for your buyer and for your seat (Can see the caller's number after a call qualifies, in Settings). Otherwise it stays masked.
Your call log
- Every call your publisher put through to you — the calls another buyer ended up taking are theirs, and are not here.
- Filter by day (on your own time zone) and by outcome: Answered (qualified ones included), Missed (rang out) or Qualified. Newest first.
- Each row says how the call reached you (your browser, your mobile or your phone), who answered, how long it rang and how long you talked, and whether it qualified.
- Add a note to any call — it is yours, for your own follow-up. A link in an SMS alert opens that one call here.
SMS alerts
If your publisher has switched them on, you get one text when one of your calls qualifies: the campaign, how long you talked, the caller (masked, or in full under the same rule as your dashboard) and a link to the call. SMS alerts lists the texts sent to you, lets you switch them off, and lets you send them to the mobile you proved on My destination. Only your publisher can switch them back on — they pay for them. Reply STOP to any of them to stop every automatic text to that number; START undoes it. More in SMS alerts.
More than one dashboard
One login can sit at several buyers — two publishers may each invite you — and hold other seats besides. The dashboard switcher shows one tile per buyer, each with that buyer's own calls and its own destination. Your browser takes calls for one buyer at a time: switching calls on in another buyer's dashboard moves it there.
What the dashboard never shows
- Money. Not what your publisher charges you per call, not what it pays anyone, not its margin. Your invoice comes from your publisher, outside this dashboard.
- Where a call came from — the affiliate or partner who sent it — or how it was routed to you.
- Any other buyer, their calls or their numbers.
- Recordings. Calls may be recorded for your publisher; recordings are not shared with buyers.
- Your publisher's console. Your login opens your dashboard and nothing of theirs.
